Privacy policy
Last updated October 2026. A short policy, because this is a small site that holds very little about anyone.
What reaches us directly
Nothing, unless you write to us. There is no account to create here, no newsletter sign-up and no form that asks for your details. If you do send a message, we keep it and your reply address for as long as it takes to answer and to record any correction that followed. Correspondents are not added to any list.
What the server records
The usual web request log: which page was asked for, which page referred you, a browser identification string, an approximate location derived from your network address, and the time. This is how any web server works, and it is used to see which pages get read and to find faults. Analytics software, if in use on this domain, aggregates the same category of information.
Affiliate tracking, specifically
This is the part that is particular to a site like this one, so it is worth being exact. When you click through to the seller, their payment platform sets a cookie recording that the visit originated here. If a purchase follows, the platform credits a commission to this site.
What this site receives is a count of attributed sales. It does not receive your name, your address, your email, your card details or any other part of the transaction. The cookie is set by the platform on its own domain, not by us, and the platform's privacy policy governs what happens on its pages once you arrive there.
Cookies, and refusing them
Any cookie set by this domain itself is limited to remembering interface state. The affiliate cookies described above are set elsewhere. Every current browser can block or clear both, under a settings section usually called privacy or site data, and blocking them prevents nothing on this site from being read.
What is deliberately not collected
Health information. If you write to us, please leave your medical history out of it. We cannot advise on it, and holding it serves no purpose for either of us. Nothing here is directed at children and no information is knowingly collected from them.
Who else receives anything
Nothing is sold, rented or traded. The parties who necessarily see something are the hosting provider, which serves the pages, the analytics provider if one is configured, and the affiliate platform at the moment you click through to it.
Your options
You can ask what is held about you and ask for it to be deleted, through the contact page. Since this site holds almost nothing about individual readers, such requests are usually settled quickly. Where local data protection law gives you further rights, those are honoured.
Changes to this policy
A material change will be accompanied by a change to the date above. Continuing to use the site after that indicates acceptance of the revised version.
